<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a power rear door from being damaged by stopping the power rear door when the power rear door nears an obstacle while the rear door is turned from the closed position to the open position in an automobile having the power rear door which is turnably and openably supported at the rear part of a vehicle body and opened and closed by the operation of a motor. <P>SOLUTION: An obstacle sensor 3 for detecting that the rear door 2 approaches an object while the power rear door 2 is operated from the closed position toward the open position by the operation of the motor is installed on the power rear door 2. When the power rear door 2 is detected to be approach an obstacle by the obstacle sensor 3 while the power rear door 2 is turned toward the open position with the automobile stopped, the operation of the motor for turning the power rear door 2 is stopped, and the power rear door 2 is prevented from coming into contact with the obstacle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
