<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably perform touch detection while preventing deterioration in display quality. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device includes: a plurality of light receiving layers 150a' formed on a display area 10a on a first substrate 10, respectively, corresponding to pixel parts 72; a plurality of light amount adjusting parts 82 formed on the display area so as to include respective second liquid crystal parts 5b overlapping with the light receiving layers and capable of independently adjusting the light amount of light which is transmitted through the second liquid crystal parts from a display surface 302s indicated by an indication means and which is incident on the light receiving layers at the respective light receiving layers; and a control means 216 controlling the plurality of light amount adjusting parts so that the light amount of light incident on the light receiving layer is adjusted by changing the transmittance of light at the second liquid crystal part in response to the transmittance of light at the first liquid crystal part in the corresponding pixel part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
