PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method and device of motion vector in imaging data, capable of efficiently and precisely detecting motion vector, using a combination of gradient method and block matching method, with a simple configuration, even with an image having abrupt change of brightness value, a flat image with no change in brightness, or an image having a lot of noise. SOLUTION: A motion vector is detected through a first step for extracting a gradient part whose brightness change continuously increases or decreases, consisting of a plurality of pixels being continuous in horizontal or vertical direction, in a plurality of imaging data succeeding temporally which are obtained through a photographing lens, and a second step in which the gradient part selected in the first step is compared each other among a plurality of imaging data, being temporally succeeding, to examine relationship for acquiring a motion vector.
