PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system in which communication between an entrance slave unit and a living room master unit can be smoothly performed without increasing costs, and there is no risk of deterioration in the quality of a video. SOLUTION: In an intercom system, a living room master unit 2 comprises a display section 7 which functions also as a touch panel type operation screen for selecting display areas 7a-7i desired for enlarged display. Moreover, an entrance slave unit 2 comprises a memory 18 for storing correction parameters for correcting distortion, exposure, and white balance of a video image picked up by a camera 6 in association with one another for each display area, and a DSP 17 which corrects the video image using the correction parameters and performs electronic panning/tilting control. The DSP 17 reads the correction parameter for the corresponding display area from the memory 18 on the basis of a received select signal and uses the correction parameter to perform video image correction and electronic panning/tilting control.
