PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for correctly discriminating an apparatus from apparatuses having a flow rate pattern caused by control characteristics and apparatuses having a flow rate pattern including also factors excluding the control characteristics. SOLUTION: This apparatus discriminating device has an arithmetic processing portion 3 connected with a gas supply pipe for domestic use and detecting a flow rate change pattern by processing flow rate values output from a flow rate measuring portion for measuring a gas flow rate at specific time intervals and a flow rate value output from the flow rate measuring portion, and an apparatus discriminating portion 4 for specifying the apparatus in operation in reference to a result of the arithmetic processing and a discrimination table memorized in a memorizing portion 5 and comprising a determination condition particular to personal operation.
