PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron in which handleability of steam use is improved by simple configuration. SOLUTION: The iron includes a base 3 to be heated by a heater 2, a vaporization chamber 4 formed in the base 3, a cassette tank 14 for storing water and a pump device 21 for supplying the water to the vaporization chamber 4, since pressure change means 101 for decompressing the inside of the pump device 21 is provided, the water whose temperature is elevated inside the pump device 21 is sent into the vaporization chamber 4. Thus, the temperature drop of the vaporization chamber 4 is delayed without increasing the weight of the iron, and the iron in which the handleability of the steam use is improved by the simple configuration is provided.
