PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel carrier bag having carrying straps with favorable fitting property and flexibility in gripping, having elasticity and shape-retaining property and being lightweight in the carrier bag for storing articles in shopping or the like. SOLUTION: This carrier bag uses flattened strings as the carrying straps 2 and 2 attached to the upper edges of the front and back sides of a bag body 1 into a loop shape, wherein a single flattened string is formed by clamping a strip-like core 2c having flexibility and elasticity such as Warihu (trade name, a highly functional nonwoven fabric having mesh structure) between a surface-side string-like outer cover 2a and a back-side string-like outer cover 2b, and sticking them together by hot gluing or sewing.
