PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device and encrypted data processing method, where the data encrypted by a non-updated encryption key, prior to updating, are prevented from being decrypted and output by the updated encryption key. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a storage device for storing data on a storage medium, comprising an encryption key updating section for setting an updated encryption key and identification information of the encryption key; a storage section for storing encrypted data on the storage medium, after appending the identification information set by the encryption key updating section; a reading section for reading the encrypted data and the identification data appended to the encrypted data; a determining section for determining whether the identification information appended to the encrypted data, read by the reading section and stored match the identification information set by the encryption key updating section; and a decryption section for decrypting the encrypted data based on the encryption key set by the encryption key updating section and for outputting the decrypted data, when the identification information appended to the data encrypted by an encryption section coincides with the identification information, set by the encryption key updating section.
