PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method excellent in low temperature fixability, high temperature offset resistance and high glossiness of an image and providing stable images even when a large number of sheets are continuously printed at a high speed and low printing rate. SOLUTION: A toner carrier has a surface layer containing at least two kinds of resin particles A and resin particles B with different elastic moduli from each other, wherein the elastic modulus of the resin particles A ranges from 0.05 MPa to 0.25 MPa and the elastic modulus of the resin particles B ranges from 0.50 MPa to 2.00 MPa. In a micro-compression test on the toner, when the particle diameter of the toner measured is D (μm), the maximum displacement when a load of 9.8×10<SP>-4</SP>N is applied to one particle of the toner at a loading velocity of 9.8×10<SP>-5</SP>N/sec is X<SB>100</SB>(μm), and a displacement of the toner when a load of 2.0×10<SP>-4</SP>N is applied is X<SB>20</SB>(μm), formulae (1): 0.400≤X<SB>100</SB>/D≤0.800 and (2): 0.020≤X<SB>20</SB>/D≤0.060 are satisfied.
