Coating material comprises a siloxane containing matrix and its dispersed, functionalized, single- or multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Independent claims are included for: (1) substrate, which is coated with the coating material, dried and/or subjected to polymerization of the applied organic polymerizable groups; (2) producing carbon nanotubes functionalized with carboxamide groups, comprises providing carboxylic acid functionalized carbon tubes, and reacting the carboxylic acid groups with an amine in such a way to form an carboxamide group of formula (CONHR); and (3) single- or multi-walled carbon nanotubes functionalized with a carboxamide- or carboxylic acid ester group. R : optionally substituted alkyl or (hetero)aryl, preferably 1-3C-alkyl or 6-12C-aryl or alkylene aryl, or aryl substituted with SO 3H group.
