The valve unit has a valve head (19,21) which for positional orientation on the valve seat (20,22) is pivotably mounted with the aid of a ball joint (37,38). The valve head has a valve pusher (25) which supports the valve head and which is equipped with a tensioning device via which the valve head can be fixed in a rotationally-resistant manner on the valve pusher. For forming the tensioning device the valve pusher has two sections (26,27) which can be clamped together, with the components of the ball joint between them.
