In an image distribution system which distributes an electronically recorded image to a client terminal (12) through a server (10), when a high-resolution image of a desired image requested from the client terminal (12) is produced using a single image or plural images recorded in a digital camera (16) or on-demand video data (18) in a high-resolution processing unit (20) on the side of the server (10), a desired parameter in parameters which can be specified by the client terminal (12) is transmitted from the client terminal (12) to the server (10), the parameters including a part of or all items of quality parameter for setting the image quality of the produced image for the desired image. On the side of the server (10), the high-resolution image whose image quality is controlled by the quality parameter is produced and distributed to the client terminal (12). |
