<p>The device for the elution of sample such as matrix metalloproteinases from a sample carrier (20) for analysis, and for the storage of the sample carrier, comprises a container (10) with a wall (30), an internal and external surface, an opening that is formed as inlet and outlet openings (40, 50), an opening for the reception of a movable piston element with a stamp and a piston pole so that the piston element locks the container and the inlet and the outlet opening are intended in an area arranged against the piston element. The sample is absorbed on a sample carrier. A reception arrangement for the sample carrier is arranged in the wall between the first and the second barrier elements. The reception arrangement is arranged more closely to the piston element as to the area present against the piston element. The barrier element is not movable during supplying the elution fluid without contact to the stamp. The barrier elements are chemically inert and are filters.
