A method of fabricating a plant propagation apparatus 10 that can be supported in a vertical orientation having a plurality of pockets 30 in which plants may be grown. The method comprising joining together first 20 and second 36 panels of a flexible sheet material along plurality of corrugations formed in the second panel along the longitudinal axis of the apparatus to form seams 33. The first and second panels are further joined along a generally lateral direction to form a lower edge 34 for each pocket. An opening 31 is provided through which a plant provided in the pocket may grow. More than one row of pockets can be formed and drain holes 32 can be provided so that one set of pockets drains into the row below. The device can be provided with water supply means 50 and a canopy to protect the growing plants (fig 14). |
