The segments exhibit a groove shaped casing (4), which is reinforced by a rib (5), where the segments are welded with one another. A centering element positions the segments together, where the segments are connected to each other. A connecting pin intervenes into an opening in the segments, and the downholder is rectangular shaped, where sides of the rectangle exhibit small breadth. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a downholder. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Downholder for use in a deforming tool of prepreg-fiber mats for manufacturing carbon fiber-reinforced plastic components and in area of deep-drawing die for metallic plates and for production of a roof module from the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic for a motor vehicle, and for fixing the deformed metallic plate and prepreg-fiber mats edge-laterally to prevent uncontrolled re-slipping of a material in a boundary region during the deforming process. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The segments are manufactured by the generative manufacturing method and connected together for designing the downholder, thus manufacturing the downholder in different complex geometries in a flexible and cost effective manner while exhibiting the downholder with sufficient mechanical characteristic values with respect to firmness and abrasion resistance.
