The device has two edge protection angles (1) which are placed at the outer edges of a transported material (3) at a system. The transported material lies at an upper surface with a shank and at its side surface with another shank. The side surface of the material to be transported is assigned to the upper surface. Both the edge protection angles are clamped together by a clamping element and a mounting ring (12) is connected to both the edge protection angles. Another clamping element is mounted at the mounting ring.
