发明名称 Wiring tool for interconnecting electrical terminals
摘要 759,650. Stripping conductors. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO., Inc. July 23, 1954 [July 24, 1953], No. 21563/54. Class 36. [Also in Group XXII] A wiring tool for interconnecting terminals is adapted, when the tool is applied to the first of two spaced terminals, to strip the end of a length of insulated wire inserted into the tool from a supply of such wire and wrap this end around the terminal, and, when the tool has been drawn along the length of insulated wire and applied to the second terminal, to cut off the length of insulated wire from the supply thereof, strip the end of such length and wrap the end around the second terminal. The tool includes, Fig. 6, a housing 10, with a motor 11 mounted on its rear wall driving, through gearing 100, 101, 84, 82 and 81, a cam-shaft 80. A wire feedtube 50 and a sleeve 20 are reciprocated in the housing 10 by cam-operated levers 52 and 22 respectively, a stripper rod 31 is reciprocated in a groove 25 of the sleeve 20 by a cam-operated lever 32, and a pivoted wire cutting and gripper blade 62, Fig. 22, of cutter clamp 60 mounted above the groove 25 in the sleeve 20, is actuated by a cam-operated lever 67 (not shown) through linkage 66, 65, 64. A spindle 40, rotatable and slidable in the sleeve 20 and formed with a wiring head 42, is rotated from the gear 101 through a clutch 90 under control of a camactuated lever 95. In operation, the tool, with the wire guide 50 and stripper 30 forward, Fig. 12, sleeve 20 retracted, cutter blade 62 open and insulated wire 160 laid in a notch 44 in the wiring-head 42 and between the jaws of the stripper 30, is applied to a terminal A so that the terminal is received in a recess 43 in the head 42 and the motor 11 switched on. The sleeve 20 then moves forward to close the jaws of the stripper 30, the stripper 30 is then withdrawn to strip the insulation from the end of the wire, the head 42 is rotated to wrap the stripped wire end around the terminal A, the sleeve 20 is then moved back and the stripper 30 forward and the motor 11 is then switched off. The tool is then applied to the terminal B, the wire 160 being paid out through the feed tube 50. The motor 11 is then switched on and feed tube 50 retracted, Fig. 17, so that a spring finger 70 presses the wire in the winding head notch 44 and between the jaws of the stripper and a spring finger 75 presses the wire in the cutterclamp means 60. The blade 62 then closes to cut the wire 160 and clamp the supply end, the sleeve 20 moves forward to close the jaws of the stripper 30, the stripper 30 then moves back to strip the insulation from the end of the wire. The head 42 is then rotated to wrap the end about the terminal B. The feed tube 50 then moves forward, the stripper 30 moves forward, the sleeve 20 back, the blade 62 opens to release the supply end of the wire and the motor 11 is switched off. The tool is now in the state shown in Fig. 12 ready for a new cycle of operation. Specifications 674,709, 716,526 and 759,651, [Group XXII], are referred to.
