Preparing stabilized initiator comprises radically initiated polymerization of an aqueous solution containing at least an initiator and at least N-vinylpyrrolidone as a monomer with the condition that the weight ratio of monomer to initiator is selected in such a way that the portion of initiator is 5-50 wt.%, in relation to the sum of radical initiator and monomer; and spraying or crystallizing the obtained mixture in a spray device. An independent claim is included for stabilized initiators, obtained by the above process.
