PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development apparatus capable of preventing the leakage of a developer from a developer storing part. SOLUTION: In the development apparatus comprising a developer regulation member for charging the developer on a developer carrier by abutting on the developer carrier, a supporting member for supporting the developer regulation member and a sealing member of which the other end side is compressed by the developer storing part and the supporting member to prevent the leakage of the developer from the developer storing part, the degree of compression of the sealing member on the other end side is set smaller than the degree of compression of the sealing member on the one-end side to uniform depression force from the developer regulation member to the developer carrier.
