摘要 A method of utilizing Zirconium alloys containing Titanium from within the preferred range of ratios of between, about 40% Zirconium and about 60% Titanium by atomic weight, to the ratio of about 30.9% Zirconium and 69.1 % Titanium by atomic weight, in the manufacture of metal articles of sports, night stealth compatible articl es for law enforcement and military equipment, night-stealth personal and body adornmen ts for members of such forces, garden and household implements, fashion accessories , body art articles, and medical and dental implants, which articles benefit from a ny combination of properties from within the group of being hypo-allergenic, possessing high tensile strength and hardness, having low ductility and elasticity and of having the outer appearance within the scale of gray and blackness. In this method an alloy of components in their respective ratios from within the method's stipulated preferred range is shaped into a workpiece by means of machining, casting or closed-di e forging, and then subjected to an oxidation process. The oxidation is achieved throug h heating the alloy or the workpiece made thereof in oxygen containing atmospheric ambience in one or two cycles, each from within the range of about 250 degrees Celsius t o about 880 degrees Celsius. Heating cycle duration is within the range of about 10 to about 110 minutes. Temperature and duration configurations within the ranges depen d on the desired shade of gray or blackness and/or the desired depth of the formed ha rd and lasting oxide layer formed thereby.
