The device has a locking unit (20) connected to a bumper (4) of a motor vehicle i.e. car. The unit is pivoted between a passive separated position in which a rectangular shaped positioning plate (8) is separated from a case (7) of an equipment element i.e. fog light (5), and an active blocking position in which the plate is blocked on the bumper. An indexing unit i.e. centering pin (10), assures the positioning of the positioning plate on an internal wall (4a) of the bumper. The unit has a plate (21) i.e. tab, that is connected to the bumper by a connection portion (22) forming a hinge.
