Production of ferulic acid, coniferyl alcohol and/or natural vanillin, comprises bioconversion of eugenol by a bacterium belonging to genus Streptomyces comprising at least a nucleotide sequence SEQ ID NO: 1 (having a defined sequence of 1680 base pair given in the specification) or every nucleotide sequence with at least 70%, preferably 90% of identity with SEQ ID NO: 1.
