<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light control plate capable of emitting light widened within a predetermined angle range, to provide a surface light source device provided with the light control plate, and to provide a transmission type image display apparatus comprising the surface light source device. <P>SOLUTION: The light control plate 40 emits light from a plurality of light sources made incident from a main face 40a, from an exit surface 40b. A corresponding area 41 corresponding to a space between two light sources adjacent to each other in the main faces of the light control plate 40 has first to third areas 41A to 41C, the first and third areas have a plurality of first optical path control parts 42 which emit first incident light from the exit surface while widening the light within the predetermined angle range by utilizing the refraction when the first incident light F1<SB>i</SB>(F2<SB>i</SB>) is made incident to a plurality of flat surface parts 41<SB>k, m</SB>, and the second area has a second optical path control part 43 which emits second incident light F1<SB>i</SB>, F2<SB>i</SB>within a predetermined angle range by utilizing total reflection in a prism part 46<SB>m</SB>, wherein the first incident light is light from the light source of the side nearer to the first optical path control part of two light sources and the second incident light is light from two light sources. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
