摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus with a MOS image sensor capable of enhancing flicker detection accuracy. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus with the MOS image sensor includes a flicker detection section for extracting a flicker component signal corresponding to a periodic luminance change in an imaging environment from an image signal by each frame supplied from the image sensor, for performing correction to the flicker component signal to eliminate the signal component whose level is equal to or lower than a prescribed reference low level and equal to or higher than a prescribed high reference level, and for detecting the frequency or period of the flicker component on the basis of the peak and the valley of the corrected flicker component signal. The detection section discriminates the component signal to be in the peak when the level of the signal is higher than average luminance for each period and to be in the valley when the level of the signal is lower than the average luminance for each period when the differential value of the signal indicates a zero cross point (S23). Thus, an extremely small luminance change in an incandescent light can be eliminated from the floicker component signal and the signal component of a high luminance image can be eliminated.
