IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS, METHOD OF CORRECTING OPTICAL BLACK LEVEL AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus capable of properly correcting a black level in accordance with variation in gain conditions, and to provide a method of correcting optical black level and a program. SOLUTION: The image pickup apparatus includes: an image pickup element 104 for converting an optical image of a subject into an electric signal; an amplifier section 107 for amplifying the electric signal from the image pickup element with gain; a black level detecting section 110 for detecting a black level from the electric signal in a predetermined region of the image pickup element; and a signal processing section 120 for correcting the black level of a video image on the basis of the detected black level. In the image pickup apparatus, the signal processing section corrects the black level of a newly read video signal from the black level previously detected in the different conditions in the optical black region on the image pickup element on the basis of the black level correction amount in the predetermined gain condition calculated by interpolation.
