PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance steam turbine by reducing a pressure loss in a downward exhaust type low pressure exhaust chamber without increasing the size of the downward exhaust type low pressure exhaust chamber. SOLUTION: In the steam turbine 40 of the invention, a turbine casing 4 is formed in a double structure of an outer casing 10 and an inner casing 9, an annular diffuser 8 is composed of a steam guide 11, a bearing cone 7 and so forth on an outlet side of final stage blades of the inner casing and the low pressure exhaust chamber enclosed by the outer casing 10 and the bearing cone 7 is formed on an outlet side of the annular diffuser 8. The steam guide 11 has a fixed steam guide 12 and a first movable steam guide 13 which is provided on the outlet side with respect to the fixed steam guide 12 and is axially movable relatively to the fixed steam guide 12. A second movable steam guide 14 axially movable relatively to the fixed steam guide 12 is provided on the outlet side with respect to the first movable steam guide 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
