PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fatigue crack progress inhibition-prevention method which can reduce work efforts and costs for crack progress inhibition-prevention. SOLUTION: The fatigue crack progress inhibition-prevention method includes: a first process where a stop hole 3 is bored so that it surrounds the tips 21, 22 of a fatigue crack 2 generated in a plate member 1; and a second process where a cylindrical hole (additional cylindrical hole 4) is bored in the proximity to the stop hole 3. The cylindrical hole (additional cylindrical hole 4) is bored in a position where it produces a stress-reduction effect by mutually interfering with the stop hole 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
