PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a needle valve operates with its sliding part slanted or inclined to an arbitrary direction because of action of lateral load due to a space between the valve body and itself, which generates variation in response of opening/closing of the needle valve and affects on a flow-rate characteristic of a fuel injection valve. SOLUTION: In the fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine provided with a fuel passage formed of the needle valve and a valve body to the axial direction and a movable core reciprocating together with the needle valve in the fuel passage, one end part and the other end part of the needle valve are provided with sliding guide parts for forming a circular passage along an inner peripheral surface of the valve body and guiding the reciprocation of the needle valve. By excising a part of an outer peripheral part of the sliding guide part, the circular passage is provided with an expansion part to be a communication passage by expanding a part of it to the axial direction.
