PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trash bag for shredder dust, which allows shredder dust discharged from a paper shredder to be easily compressed to reduce its bulkiness. SOLUTION: The trash bag is made of a flexible synthetic resin material into the shape of a bag having an opening 121, the opening is made sealable, and the bag shaped portion is formed with air-venting sections 125, 127, from which inside air is removed by being compressed, and which can prevent entry of outside air thereinto. A compression apparatus to be used for compressing the trash bag filled with shredder dust is constituted of: a base on which the trash bag is put; a pressing member provided to face the base and pressing the trash bag; an extendable mechanism coupled to the back surface of the pressing member via a spring member and pressing/retracting the pressing member; and a drive mechanism for extending/retracting the extendable mechanism.
