PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of stably conveying a base material film while preventing floating up from a roll, and providing a resin coating film with no marks of grooves formed on the roll. SOLUTION: The coating apparatus is provided with a coating means applying a resin coating liquid onto the continuously conveyed base material film, and one or two or more rolls in contact with the base material film applied with the resin coating liquid by the coating means. The grooves 10 with a width W of less than 0.5 mm are formed all over the width range in contact with the base material film, on the surfaces of at least one or more of the rolls in contact with the base material film within a range of viscosity of the applied resin coating film of 1,000 mPa s or less.
