The apparatus (100a) has a measurement electrode (10) inserted into a root canal (22). Oral-cavity electrode (11) is positioned on an intraoral surface. A power supply (1) supplies the signals to one of the measurement electrode and the oral-cavity electrodes. A display part (7) displays the presence or absence of lateral branch extended from root canal to a periodontal membrane cavity based on the measurement data detected between the two electrodes. The display part displays the presence or absence of the branch by using waveform transition of the data.
