Use of polysaccharide from the fruit of the wolfberry ( Lycium barbarum) for the production of or as a medicament, nutritional supplement or food for the prevention against and for therapy of diseases and disorders of the organs indirectly involved in the digestion process, in the retroperitoneal cavity, is claimed.
