<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking device and method capable of increasing sharpness of printed marks. <P>SOLUTION: The marking device 80 prints marks of a specified length on the protective layer 123 of a coated copper wire 125 longitudinally transferred along the peripheral direction of the wire 125. The marking device 80 includes a plurality of marking rollers 81f and 82f provided at required intervals along the longitudinal direction of the coated copper wire 125 to print marks shorter than a preset length on the protective layer 123 in the peripheral direction of the wire 125. Further, the marking device 80 changes the plurality of linear marks printed by the plurality of marking rollers 81f and 82f into wider linear marks having a predetermined length in the longitudinal direction of the wire 125. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
