EXTERNALLY CHARGED EV/HV AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take measures to reduce engine exhaust gas in an externally chargeable EV/HV automobile.

SOLUTION: This externally charged EV/HV automobile traveling in one travel mode of an EV mode and an HV mode has: a battery supplying power to a motor; a generator charging the battery by generation power by drive force of an engine; an external charging part supplying power to the battery from an external power supply device to charge the battery. The externally charged EV/HV automobile also has: a charge amount measurement part obtaining an external charge power amount supplied to the battery from the external charging part; and a travel mode determination part for determining a travel mode for traveling in which travel mode of the EV mode or the HV mode based on the external charge power amount. The EV/HV automobile travels in the travel mode based on a determination result of the travel mode determination part.
