<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish a video server system in which, when a fault occurs in a video server, the utilization of the video server in which the fault occurs, is automatically stopped to continue a service and energy saving and efficient operation can be performed. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit 103 transmits a playback instruction of video/audio information to a video server 101, 102. The video server 101, 102, to which the instruction is transmitted, performs playback processing on the video/audio information and if processing is failed, a message of "failure" is returned. The control unit 103 decides that a fault occurs in the video server that has returned the message of "failure" and transmits a playback instruction to the video server in which a fault does not occur. The control unit 103 includes a function for stopping operating the video server 101, 102. On a day of a little use frequency, the number of video servers to be operated is decreased and a power source unit 501 or 502 of the video server 101 or 102 whose operations are stopped is turned off, thereby reducing energy consumption of the entire system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
