PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip suction passage capable of providing sufficient chip suction performance while maintaining predetermined strength and rigidity even if an end mill is small in diameter. SOLUTION: A twist groove 20 of a blade part 16 is continuously formed in a shank 18 larger in diameter than the blade part 16, and a holder 14 is fitted and integrally fixed to the outer peripheral side of the shank 18. Therefore, a hollow 34 is formed between the fitting hole 30 of the holder 14 and the twist groove 20, and the hollow 34 is used as the chip suction passage. Consequently, the chip suction passage (the hollow 34) having a flow cross section capable of providing sufficient chip suction performance can be formed by properly setting the diameter dimension of the shank 18 without being restricted by the diameter dimension of the blade part 16 and without impairing the strength and rigidity of the blade part 16.
