<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the economical aging to be achieved by performing the excellent aging treatment in a short time, while reducing consumption of hydrogen as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The method has a first aging step to perform the hydrogen pump operation that the humidified hydrogen permeates a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 14 to be transferred to a cathode side of a fuel cell 10 with the maximum usable current density by feeding the humidified hydrogen to an anode side of the fuel cell 10 without feeding oxidizer gas to the cathode side of the fuel cell 10 while applying the positive pole potential to the anode side of the fuel cell 10 and applying the negative pole potential to the cathode side of the fuel cell 10, and a second aging step to perform power generation of the fuel cell 10 with the maximum usable current density after the first aging step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
