摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device in which flickering of arc of a xenon lamp provided in the light source device is reduced, and stability of light irradiated from the xenon lamp is improved. <P>SOLUTION: Current supplied to the xenon lamp 2 flows into a feeder cable 10 from the feeder cable 11 via an anode 5 and a cathode 6. The feeder cables 10, 11 are arranged almost point-symmetrically against the center between electrodes on a lamp axis to connect between the electrodes 5, 6, and magnetic fields generated in respective feeder lines 10, 11 work in mutually compensating directions. If the magnetic field is working in the vicinity of the arc of the lamp 2, owing to the current flowing in this magnetic field and the lamp 2, an electromagnetic force works on the arc of the lamp 2, and although it is considered that a discharge arc becomes unstable because of its direction, since the magnetic fields are mutually compensated, the discharge arc is suppressed to become unstable because of effect of the magnetic fields. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
