<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp having a longer lifetime compared with a conventional one by further suppressing devitrification and blackening of an arc tube which is caused by using it for a long time, a light source device, and a projection type display device. <P>SOLUTION: This discharge lamp has an arc tube 111 made of silica glass, a pair of tungsten electrodes 112 disposed face to face in the arc tube 111, and a metal film 117 made of a metal material having affinity for oxygen which is higher than that of tungsten while covering the surface of a pair of the tungsten electrodes 112. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
