PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an accounting time by simplifying procedures conducted by a cashier for accounting. SOLUTION: The article sales data processing equipment 102 includes a customer side display 148 and customer side input devices 149, 153 on customer side, and also includes cashier input devices 142, 144 on cashier side. The cashier inputs an article side code into the article sales data processing equipment 102 and fixes the sales amount from the cashier side input devices 142, 144. A list of the settlement methods are displayed on the customer side display 148 and the customer can select one of the settlement methods using the customer side input devices 149, 153. In the article sales data processing equipment 102, if the customer selects a method which has been predetermined by the cashier using cashier side input devices 142, 144 before fixing the sales amount, then it is settled by the predetermined method by the cashier, and if the customer selects a method using customer side input devices 149, 153 before fixing the sales amount, then it is settled by the method which the customer has selected.
