<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of determining abnormality when the abnormality is generated in a filter even if a degree of the abnormality is small. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device of the engine 1 estimates a deposition amount of PM depositing on the filter 35 provided on an exhaust passage 33 for collecting the PM in exhaust gas, based on an engine operation status. When the estimated value Ax becomes equal to or higher than a predetermined determination value AS for executing regeneration processing, the device executes the regeneration processing of raising temperature of the filter 35 to a predetermined temperature or higher, burning the PM, and removing the PM from the filter 35. Differential pressure between pressure on an exhaust upstream side and pressure on an exhaust downstream side of the filter 35 is detected by a differential pressure sensor 64. When the differential pressureΔPS when the estimated value Ax of the PM deposition amount is equal to or higher than the regeneration processing execution determination value AS becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined threshold value R, the device determines that the filter 35 has abnormality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
