PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forging machine with which a fixing work when fitting a punch to a ram, is made to be automatically performed and further, the adjustment of the punch position on the ram can be easily performed without needing the skill of a workman. SOLUTION: In the forging machine (heading machine 1) provided with a base; a die 2 fitted to this base; the ram (ram body part 3) reciprocatively moved to the base; the punch 5 for performing the forging processing by combining with the die 2 fitted to the ram 3 and faced; a position adjusting means 8 for adjusting the fitting position of the punch 5 by loading to the ram 3; and a controlling part 9 for controlling this position adjusting means 8; the ram 3 includes a pushing means (pushing member 6) for fixing to the fitting position by pushing the punch 5, and the controlling part 9 includes an operating part (hydraulic operating mechanism 7) for operating this pushing member 6.
