PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply system capable of reducing time required to start an engine when starting the engine after fuel exhaustion. SOLUTION: The fuel supply system used for a multiple cylinder engine includes a plurality of injectors 2a-2h injecting fuel taken out of a fuel tank 1 and made high in pressure by a high pressure pump 5B, into a combustion chamber of the engine, and a plurality of fuel return passages 91, 92 for returning excess fuel in the injectors 2a-2h to the fuel tank 1. The injectors 2a-2h are constituted to take in fuel from the fuel return passages 91, 92, and a feed pump 5A, connecting passages 93, 94 and check valves 95, 96 are provided as preferential supply means for supplying fuel preferentially to the fuel return passage 91.
