SUPPORT FILM TO BE USED AS SUPPORT AT STEP OF MANUFACTURING POLARIZING FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support film which has satisfactory surface flatness as a supporting film to be used as a support at a step of manufacturing a polarizing film and excellent adhesion when a polarization-functional film is layered on the support film and is used as the support at the step of manufacturing the polarizing film. SOLUTION: The support film is a laminated film composed of a polyester film and a coating film arranged on at least one side of the polyester film. The coating film includes 45-72 wt.% copolyester (A) which contains a component of dicarboxylic acid having a sulfonate group, which component is 1-16 mol% of all of dicarboxylic acid components, and has 20-90°C secondary transition point, 8-30 wt.% water-soluble polymer compound (B), 2-25 wt.% fine particles (C) having 20-80 nm average particle diameter and 2-25 wt.% cross-linking agent (D) shown by formula (I).
