<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively simplify an assembly process of a fuel cell, and enable a desired seal function to be ensured with economical and simple construction. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of rubber bridge parts 52a is formed on the surface 18a of a second metal separator 18 positioned in the vicinity of an oxidizer gas inlet communication hole 20a. A plurality of channel sections for passage 56a which communicate the oxidizer gas inlet communication hole 20a and the oxidizer gas flow path 26 is formed between the rubber bridge parts 52a. In the upper face part 54a of the top of the rubber bridge parts 52a, rigidity of the end edge section 58a of both sides adjacent to the channel sections for passage 56a is set higher than rigidity of the other section 60a.
