PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality luminance signal by effectively utilizing respective advantages of a plurality of luminance signal generating systems. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a signal processing apparatus (4) which processes an image signal obtained by imaging due to an imaging device including color filters of Bayer pattern, including: a first luminance signal generating means (5) which generates image signals in respective colors at respective pixel positions from input image signals in three colors, performs weighting upon an image signal of one color greater than other two colors and performs addition processing of image signals of the respective colors to generate first luminance signals corresponding to respective pixel positions; a second luminance signal generating means (6) which regards the input image signals in the three colors as luminance signals of respective colors to generate second luminance signals corresponding to pixel positions of the image signals in the three colors; a discrimination means (7) which discriminates, on the basis of an input image signal, whether the relevant image signal indicates a black-and-white image or a color image; and a mixing means (9) which mixes out the first luminance signals and the second luminance signals in accordance with a result of the relevant discrimination.
