PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure and reduce cost with regard to an AT shift assist mechanism assisting operation of an AT shift lever. SOLUTION: Output parts 12a, 13a of rotary solenoids 12, 13 driving an assist gear 11 are constructed so as to rotate to operation positions from initial positions when the rotary solenoids 12, 13 are energized and to return to the initial positions from the operation positions when the rotary solenoid 12, 13 are not energized. The output parts 12a, 13a are provided with ratchet mechanisms 14, 15 transmitting rotary force in a direction toward the operation positions from the initial positions to the assist gear 11 but not transmitting rotary force in a direction toward the initial positions from the operation positions to the assist gear 11. The rotary solenoids 12, 13 are energized when an occupant operates a shift lever 10 and operation detection switches 16, 17 are turned on, and are not energized when the occupant does not operate the shift lever 10 and the operation detection switches 16, 17 are turned off.
