PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug and a jack, which allow the increased number of electrodes without upsizing thereof and have simple structures. SOLUTION: The plug 1 of the present invention has a head electrode in a leading part and a trunk electrode in a trailing part, wherein the head electrode 3 is divided into a top electrode 3A at a tip and a head ring electrode 3B equipped with the trunk electrode 4. In addition, in the jack 10 connected to the plug 1, a contact terminal 14, which contacts with the top electrode 3A of the plug 1 in the deep recesses of a plug insertion opening 13A of a jack housing 11, is disposed.
