PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve appearance and designability of a door body and prevent clothes or other objects from being hooked by an operation part. SOLUTION: The trap rod device for a gate door comprises a trap rod 23 arranged inside a vertical member 9 to be vertically movable, a cylindrical operation body 24 fitted to an outer periphery of the vertical member 9 in a vertically movable manner to vertically operate the trap rod 23, and a holding means 25 holding the trap rod 23 at the raised position. The holding means 25 comprises an engaging pin 27 mounted on either one of the vertical member 9 or the trap rod 23, an engaging member 29 pivoted to the engaging pin 27 on the other side in a swingable manner in a direction of engaging/disengaging, and a spring 30 urging the engaging member 29 in an engaging direction. The engaging member 29 has guide members 35, 36 on both of upper and lower sides of an engaging part 31 to guide the engaging member 29 in the engaging/disengaging direction of the engaging pin 27 when the trap rod 23 moves vertically.
