PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously producing diaryl carbonate, excellent in safety, by using a reaction column. SOLUTION: This method for continuously producing diaryl carbonate by feeding an aromatic hydroxy compound and a halogenated carbonyl into a reaction vessel comprises by using a reaction column 1 filled with a packing material at least partially as the reaction vessel, and setting≥65% space rate in a part filled with the packing material and also≥300 m<SP>2</SP>/m<SP>3</SP>surface area per unit volume of the filled material in the reaction column.
